ROCKit Kids Basics – Kids Clothes

ROCKit collects gently used cloths and then provides a 5 day supply to needy children at a local pediatric practice (Our designated practice cares for 45% Mediciad children). Presently, this is a no cost program which gathers donated items, sorts by size, stores, and then hands out items as needed. Kids Basics gives out over 175 outfits each month with infants to toddlers having the biggest need. Ongoing collections of both clothing and diapers support the program. As diapers are not provided by any governmental aid, the project contributes to the overall health and welfare of local infants in many ways.

Program Cost: $250
Program Value: Approximately $21,000 per year (300 children annually, 7 outfits @ $10 each)
Program Benefit: Family funds can go towards other bills, children are more comfortable in school and at home, pride in self, and a wonderful way to reduce, reuse, recycle – especially for infant/toddler clothes that are worn so few times as kids grow.
