ROCKit was formed in 2015 when local business leaders sought to reassure ongoing successful programs and continue creating new ones to address the basic needs of local children. Founded with three main purposes; literacy, clothing and the fulfillment of unmet needs of children; we seek to fill the gaps of local social service agencies and augment successful programs currently underway.
Determined to serve the under and uninsured children of North Oakland County, ROCKit is partnering with Kidz1st Pediatrics, local professionals and area social service agencies to increase our ability to be proficient within limited resources. By assisting children who are most at risk, we can improve the overall health of our community.
ROCKit is a volunteer organization for overall program implementation. Its network of volunteers, the encouragement of the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester and the leadership of its Board of Directors all contributed to its success. The expertise, time and energy given to the programs are greatly appreciated.
ROCKit has a core of dedicated community leaders with the experience of implementing successful programs and fundraising events. We hope that by sharing the good news of our purpose, acknowledging the resourcefulness of our partners and engaging the community we will be able to succeed.
